Winter Wonderland on a Dirt Road

On Tuesday night we had a big snow storm coming. Well… it might be snow or it might be rain. Or maybe even a mix said the weatherman. Do you know that I think being a weatherman (person) is the only job you can be wrong most of the time and still keep your job? Seriously. Think about it.

Anyhow, precipitation was coming in some form or another. By 4pm it was doing something. A lot of something. A lady I know, Cecelia, calls it snain. Snow and rain mixed together. All together nasty if you ask me. 😦 I boogied on home from work since I didn’t want to practice being an ice road trucker again.

All night long it percipitated. I live more norther than work so we got more snow here on our dirt road. It was supposed to bring 8 to 12 inches of snow. Yay we were excited to get a proper snow storm. 🙂 Sadly because of the snain that didn’t happen. It only ended up being 4 inches. I got up to take the trash out and it was SO beautiful. So calm and peaceful I just had to share. So below, take a peep at my Winter Wonderland on a Dirt Road.

When it snows and rains at the same time here where I live, I call it slush, “its slushing out!” Because that is what it makes; I also refer to slushing for sleet and rain as well. To me, slush is a mess and when you have percipitation mixed in any form, its a mess.
Our snow from the blizzard we had is almost gone now; we have had it rain several times since then, that’s one way to get rid of it. But it uncovered huge tree limbs in our yard from our neighbor’s trees.
    Happy snow day!

    • I agree, slush is a mess. Especially living on a dirt road when you get mud mixed with the slush. Maybe it then makes mlush?
Right now rain would be bad. It just makes the roads super icy because the ground is frozen. Then it makes me an ice road trucker in a momvan. Not a pretty sight. 🙂 I hear spring is around the corner though! Yay.

    • I am so glad you liked the photos! 🙂 I thought that zebra tree was pretty neat. The snow was so heavy it was pulling down all the evergreen branches. Later in the day it warmed up so all the snow on the trees was gone. I am glad I caught it when I did. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

So jealous! I wish North Texas would get some snow. A few years ago we had quite an icestorm. You could’ve ice skated down the freeway! But global warming ruins it every year now. 😦

    • I lived in Texas for a few years. Snow in Texas stops the world from revolving! I was amazed how everything closed with snow. Still, one of my favorite places that I have lived. Mostly due to the people!
