Top is finished. Lines are drawn. Wrestled it on my standing hoop.
Now to learn how to hand quilt!!
I had a great Thanksgiving with my Michigan family. Mom B and I did the Black Friday Shopping Extravaganza! Managed to get some super deals! Up to 90% off of some items. Whoo Hoo. AND…I am DONE my Christmas shopping except for a few stocking stuffers.
Oh Yeah!
Off to make some dinner, then turn on a football game and learn to hand quilt by the fire.
Life is Good.
SO pretty!! Love the colors.

I quilted for a few hours last night and really enjoyed it. I found out that I don’t have the right kind of thimbles. I ended up using a bunch of band aids! This morning my fingers are sore and I am torn if I should keep going like I want to or wait until the thimbles I ordered arrived. 😉 A good problem to have I think. 🙂

You might want to take a look at the technique used by Jean Brown, http://www.jeansimpressions.com. She uses a gadget called Aunt Becky, a lap frame that her husband makes, and a raised edge thimble. Her technique helps cut down on the carpel tunnel problems that many hand quilters end up having. There’s a video on her website or you can also find her on YouTube, It’s well worth the time to watch the show where she demonstrates how to quilt her way. Oh yes, I LOVE quilts with lots of yellow in them! Your top is simple but gorgeous!

Well Cindy, that just blew my mind! 🙂 I am teaching myself to and quilt. So trying to figure out what to do is challenging. She presents a whole new way of doing it, eh? Do you use this technique? I am very intrigued.
And thank you for the compliment on the quilt. It means a lot to have others think it is nice too.
